For those of you who’ve never asked Jesus into your life, or experienced what the spirit of this article invokes, this post is for you. You’ll probably soon be bowing your head saying; “I’m sorry God for what I was before”. You may even say; “Lord, it is said you sent your only Son to die on a cross to wash away blame that rest upon the lives of all who are born in this world resulting from universal laws we as humans can never fully understand”. “But Lord, I am sorry for doing anything, or being anything that would cause you my creator, to go as far as to send your only Son to die such a shameful, humiliatingly painful death to atone for”.
Please don’t misunderstand what I am saying here. By no means am I saying this article has anything to do with causing you to become saved by the Grace of an all loving God. I’m only saying you probably, if you haven’t already asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, will soon have an unmistakable experience with God the Father, causing you to realize you’re a sinner, and you can in no way atone for the sin nature you were born with. I say this not because of anything that is written on this page, but because if one is even looking at a blog entitled “Roll the Stone Away” there’s a good possibility certain circumstances have come into your life that God has allowed to help you to see a need He is calling you to Himself to fill.
This being said, I now move along to the true heart-felt reason of this article, and that being to hopefully help roll away the stones of false guilt, shame and condemnation that are hindering many of the already saved, but new in the faith believers from entering into His peace that He has promised and does give.
False guilt, and shame, are not from God, hence, the falseness of the guilt. In other words, Jesus paid dearly for those sins to be washed away. They are forgiven, never to be thought about by God again.
Although I did say new believers, I should add that I was well into my walk with God before seeking the truth from His word in this particular area of entering His peace. I had read and even studied the Bible for at least seven years before realizing that something was missing. Sadly, with all the views, voices, and opinions out there, I was thoroughly confused. Well, what do you do when you realize you are confused about Gods Word? You start seeking “His Word” and “His words” only. The one thing that clearly kept ringing in my spiritual ears was this: 1 Corinthians 14:33
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints
Unfortunately, there is however, an adversary who would love to keep us from ever entering into the Peace of God that exceeds all earthly understanding. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus And just as unfortunate, he, the adversary is alive and well not only in the unsaved world , but also within the church world it’s self. The Bible tells us that the adversary is an accuser, or actually, “The Accuser” of the brethren. However, he can speak through the mouth of anyone at any given time should ones heart not be guarded by the word of God. This is the first of many points I hope to make in this entry, and pray will find their way deep into longing, worried hearts of those who are new, or being distracted by the all too many voices, and views, that cloud ones thinking, and confuse things already instilled in our hearts, and minds, from the word of God, which is the only absolute truth.
What Jesus told the potential disciples in the love filled book of John (8:31), also tells us, if we continue in His word, we are as much His disciples as those He was speaking to first hand in the Temple that early morning 2000 years ago in Jerusalem. Enthusiastic desire to help roll the stone of false guilt, shame, and condemnation away from the heart of anyone not yet resting in His peace, and finished works for them is my only prayer here, so, please, make note of the scriptures as they are made readily available.
Regardless of whether one is already in Gods word on a regular basis or not, I think it’s safe to assume that all who are reading this article already know that false guilt is a form of fear, and false shame also is a type of fear. Prior to becoming washed in the blood of JESUS, the shame, and guilt were absolutely not false, and hopefully were a large factor in helping us realize how needful of His love and forgiveness we truly are. Afterward , however, the guilt and shameful feelings that may be keeping one from understanding, and accepting Gods full forgiveness, are just that ..False, and a form of fear placed into ones mind by the accuser of the brethren. Thankfully, in Gods word we are told with no if, and, or buts, that : “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”. (2 Timothy 1:6)
So, as far as the condemnation that the accusing liar from hell continues to use as a scare tactic against unsuspecting sheep awkwardly seeking to enter Gods kingdom of peace, relax, it died with Jesus:
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Yes, He did say: “Already Passed From Death into Life”
