‘Roll Away the Stone” Chapter 15

Why does God allow adversity? That’s a question we’ve all asked at one time, or other, in our lives. We don’t even have to be a child of God to ask that question. It seems, in fact, the number one most pondered question of all times when it comes to the quest for the meaning of life. It’s also the most widely posed question among all diverse groups who seek the meaning of life. Atheist, use it to try to prove their claims that there is no God. Agnostics, use it to try to balance the teeter tottering split rail fence rung their indecisive minds spin from possibility, to possibility, on. And, we the children of God, ask it many times from the midst of our own anguish filled tumult, and tragedies.

As hard as it is for us to accept, or, even contemplate when we are experiencing such life altering circumstances, the answer boils down to one thing.  “Faith.”  How much do you believe God’s word? Do you really believe God allows adversity in our lives to prepare us for something better in life, as His word so often alludes to?

Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.  Psalm 66:12

Or, do we instinctively assume the Devil is behind all adversity in our lives? Although Satan may be used by God in inflicting the adversities he has devised in one of his whiles against God’s children, it is never Satan who is behind the final outcome.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28

When we face struggles in our life, God may only be trying to get our attention. He may be trying to teach us something, or just strengthening our faith. One thing is for sure. If you are facing seemingly bad circumstances in your life as a child of God, God has something good in it for you. Once we come to realize this, and begin to respond to those difficulties rather than ask why, God’s purpose behind our sufferings begin to show.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.                       Romans 12:2

The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.                                                       Psalm 34:22

Adversity is something none of us are immune to. The question, however, in our hearts, and minds, when adversity comes knocking should not be ..“Why does God allow this”? But, how do I best respond to it. If we get buried in the all too overwhelming questioning of why such a thing is taking place in our life, we may just miss the lesson, or message, He is trying to get us to see .

One great Biblical example that comes to mind is Joseph’s life changing dilemma of being thrown into a pit by his brothers, and then sold into slavery by some passing Midianite  merchants, to later become the Governor of Egypt as part of God’s plan to one day rescue Joseph’s family, (the seed of Jesus ) from impending famine. Joseph could never have fulfilled God’s plan in all of this had he broke down in total despondency, and defeat. But, Joseph never blamed God. Though he may have had moments of wondering, and even asking God why. Sooner or later, he used the adversity as a starting point to carry on what he knew (By Faith) was a plan devised by God. How can that be? You may ask. Because, Joseph had long since succumbed to the realization that God was with him… Joseph rested..  In the Finished Works of God.

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.                               Genesis 50:20

Am I saying that God is the author of all our sufferings? Not at all.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.      John 10:10
He never promised we would not suffer adversity. But, He does promise a perfect peace, and unexplainable joy from the hope He gives us deep down inside. The trials, and tribulations,  we go through here in this present life on earth? Maybe some of it is to keep us from being satisfied with what this world has to offer. Which all too often, because of abounding worldly evil, and selfish rebellion to God’s moral standards, includes suffering and pain. The next time you find yourself struggling with something heartbreaking, or too hard to understand, instead of complaining, or asking why▬ strive to be closer to Him. Because here, now, and forever. That is the absolute best place in the world to be.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.                                          Revelation 21:4

Dandy Lion, Your Seed Has Been Received

Like a Dandy Lion;  Seeds blowing in the wind…
We are here for a moment..
Blown asunder… Our stems bend…Ashleyp915
Floating gracefully our sprites do list…
All hollowed wonder, pondering the mist…
It comes as freshness. Replenishing our slumber. No longer a need for us to wonder. Peace and lighted wings of fire…Do you think He’ll let you fall?  Rest natural child..the Super-Natural Father has a plan. He’ll inform you. He has control of it all.  And in all. Peace.  You’ll see, has no end.

  2. Hi Paul, what we need to do is ask for God’s wisdom and then we will know His heart towards us is very good 1Corinthians2:9-16 as you can see below He tells us that He does not willingly afflict us and that His planes for us are good not evil, I don’t know many fathers who work out a plan to cause their Children to suffer so they can teach them what they want.

Lamentations 3: 33 For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Jesus said we will have trouble in this life but He did not say He would cause it, He said the opposite, He would help us in it and give us the victory. Understanding what God’s discipline and chastising is helps us to see the big picture, it is not pleasant to reap what we sow without God’s intervention but if we choose our own fleshy sinful way, then we suffer because we have caused division between God and us and He can’t help us, it’s like the Prodigal son he left his father and so he suffered until he came to his senses.

Joseph did not suffer because God wanted to use him to, although He knew he would suffer and that Satan would motivate his brothers to do evil. Joseph by God’s foreknowledge was chosen, which we see from his dreams, God knew his destiny, He knew what would happen because of the jealousy of his brothers and so He intervened and what Satan planned for evil God used for good as the Scriptures tell us and as you said Paul, God works everything for good in the lives of those who Love Him, whichl we will show in our actions, we don’t hurt those we Love and we don’t get punished by God for doing good and He does not do evil after telling us not to, that would make him a hypocrite, God is Love and can do no evil , to deliberatly harm someone when they have done no wrong is evil.

    • God is a God of unity and He asks us to bring our differences to Him Paul and He will show who is in error and He does so by His inspired word which never contradicts and through the leading and Teaching of Jesus The Living Word, our Teacher, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to know His heart and His good plans for us.

Lamentations 3: 33 For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

As we can see in this verse above which you deleted, God does not willingly afflict us, we reap what we sow and this was so with those in Psalm 107 who rebelled and rejected His instruction, the Labour mentioned was not Physical Labour it was heaviness of heart, when we do what is wrong, meaning evil we have no inner Peace and Joy, we suffer at our own hand God created us this way, we are like the Prodigal son, his food was pigs food and so is ours when we sin but when we come to our senses and repent, God our Loving Father welcomes us home and we have a Spiritual banquat , we were dead in our sins but now we are Spiritually alive.

It is only when we reject God in our heart that we can’t be brought back to repentance because we are rejecting the only way to be set free from the slavery of sin which is Jesus Christ and we crucify Him again by denying He is the Way. Atheists have done this and so they are dead Spiritually and they continually fight against God and hate those who follow Him and yes some claim to be Christians but they are wolves in sheep’s clothing saying what pleases itching ears but when we have God’s wisdom we will know then by their fruit, they do not have real Love for God or us or do they seek to put their flesh to death by The Spirit which means they do not have good fruit either.

Thanks for listening Paul and we Pray God will greatly Bless you.

      • You know Anne. I sometimes wonder if you even bother to read the post you so insistently, and lengthily preach against in your replies. I never once said God was the Author of our diversity, but, as you have pointed out, the Word of God speaks for itself. He DOES allow things to take place in our lives to shape our lives, and test our faith. I could write an entire book by just posting stories, and scriptures directly from His Word to show as much. But, I’ll just point out that even Jesus’ life was God orchestrated pain, and suffering to save many people alive, as are the words of Joseph in the scripture I already used. I myself, many years ago, have experienced what God tells us in Psalms 107, is His way of getting our attention if we are not following His way.His Word there is that He let’s people choose their own way, but, if they belong to Him, to save them from total self-destruction, He even “breaks them with hard labor”. He made us, He knows what it takes to break us. I don’t mean to be insensitive, but it seems to me that you would be wise to follow your own advice, and not only ask for God’s wisdom, but to listen to His answer to that question. This particular series of writings is to help those whom have either not come to God yet, or, are having trouble following God, due to way too many voices, views and opinions, both secular and Christian, that make it sound so impossible a thing to come to God just as they are, and to be accepted, and gently shaped into the vessel He wants them to be. You, having all good intentions, I am sure, seem to be one of those voices, with an impossible view of how one can come to God, and be one of His children. You are insistent that you know God’s way is to become completely sinless. Which is true. But, Jesus provided a way for us to do that, and it’s not by OUR works as you so adamantly insist. Even if you are right in what God expects one to become before entering His Kingdom, you are wrong in how you present the message. You, like many I come across who teach a “Works” based Salvation, can not answer the simple question I always ask them…just as I asked you on a prior comment; “Have you committed a sin since you came to the understanding that you are preaching of what God expects” You wrote a very lengthy response, but have yet to answer yes or no.You also overlook so many of God’s obvious ways, of allowing ( not necessarily causing) adversity to shape either our personal lives, or those in His over all plan of redemption. Another area where you are so sure you are right, to the point of claiming absolute authoritative “Divine” revelation on, is that Jesus was born on December 25th. This only came about in scripture, and practice by Jerome’s misinterpretations of God’s Word into the Latin Vulgate, and Constantine’s intent to mix Paganism with true Christianity. Jesus, as you know, came to fulfill all of the Law, feast, and festivals. He was born in the month of Nissan (March-April) and He was sacrificed in the month of Nissan…both orchestrated perfectly by God to fulfill the final passover, for all His children of the new covenant to be reconciled to Him, our Father. Seeing as you are wrong in so many areas of your studies, I can hardly see how you think I would allow you to continue to come to my site and cast doubt to any of those readers this burden of love, ( From God) is intended to reach. Please, either refrain from preaching your false doctrines here, or, I must ask you to just not comment at all. Thank you .
        God Bless you

        • You are not reading my replies or the Scripture I share with Godly wisdom Paul, only with your own understanding and you repeatedly contradict yourself, the Scriptures don’t, if you were so assured of your teaching you would not have deleted my comment or blocked me from responding or ignored me, I have the Truth and can confirm it with Scripture I don’t need to be rude, the only time I have not approved a comment is when receiving a first one and after checking their Blog, if I find it harmful to my readers I do not approve it but I have never done this to a Christian unless they were abusive, or perhaps WordPress did it or a Hacker, if so lets reason together on my Blog. Do you believe in the Trinity Paul or Godhead as they are called in the Greek ? if not be careful or you will answer for what you teach others.

Just so you know I did answer you as to weather I sin or not but it seems you missed it, even Heidi a new Christian who was visiting me understood my reply which is confirmed in Scripture.

I have no wish to argue with you Paul, but are willing to reason together, if not I have corrected your errors and will now move on, this is your Blog and you can delete all my sharing but I suggest you read it first with Godly understanding which means you need to Humble yourself and ask for God’s wisdom and then believe you have received it.

      • Where in any of my writings have I denied that Christ is the only way to salvation? Anne? It is you who continue to scare people away from His Love, and gift of Grace, by claiming a Works based salvation. Get real, and answer the question I asked you. Not for me.. but for yourself, and your own peace. And by the way, there are a lot of other people spoken of in Psalm 107 than those who rebelled against Him, but, do you consider having to make bricks w/out straw to hold them together in an enemies country, in slavery “Heaviness of Heart”? I didn’t delete the “Verse” you posted, but, I could post entire “Chapters, and Books from His Word to show that you are pulling verses out of context to try and substantiate your belief. But, since you are here to “Teach” what’s the use in my posting anything?

  3. No there is no reasoning with someone who thinks they know it all.As they say, He who knows it all has a lot to learn. I find myself resembling that remark often, but NEVER when it comes to the message of His Gospel. We have tried this time, and again, and you continue to come to my site and try to “Correct” my errors as you put it. I am no more in error than you, as I too have Biblical validation for everything I have said. But, when I am wrong the Holy Spirit will correct me. I wasn’t trying to be rude, but, when I can’t come to my own site to write what GOD has given me to write, without first having to read you tell me how wrong I, and the Bible are, then maybe I’m not the one being rude. If you choose to teach a false, “Works” based gospel on your site, that is your choice, but you will not do it here. Furthermore, I fail to see how my believing in the Trinity, has anything to do with you teaching a Works based Salvation on my site. What you teach, or, maybe just in how you present it, does more harm than good when it comes to leading people to Christ. And, I didn’t miss your lengthy, dance around the burning bush response to my question, Anne, You just didn’t answer. You chose a defense mechanism to avoid answering because you would have to rethink your belief system if you answered truthfully. You’re not alone. That’s the exact wishy- washy answer I get from others who claim that we have to be “Sinless” to enter the Kingdom of God. Believe me, the Blog isn’t my only Ministry dealings with people, and there are a few I know who teach the same thing as you…”We All Have to be Perfect”, which is not going to happen until Jesus’ return, and in the twinkling of an eye, we will be completed in Him. Yet, none of those teaching this,(Perfect Works) including you, has answered my question. Do you occasionally sin? ( Which is different than living in Sin, or still being under the Sin nature, as a slave to sin and the Law) I agree we strive toward becoming more like Him, dying daily to our flesh. But, it is by first “Resting in His Finished Works for us at the Cross” that gets us to the place where our love for Him, produces hate for our sin. Our works can’t save us, nor can our works keep us saved. I have not reached the point of being totally sinless, yet, but because of my love for Him, I do sin less. As I clearly stated in the beginning of this series, and several times throughout. This writing was born out of a burden God laid on my heart to share how He rolled the stones of doubt, and confusion away from my heart, with others, who are seeking to know His peace that exceeds all earthly understanding. If you do not fall under that category, then don’t bother to read it, Or, at least, don’t bother to comment if your intention is to try to change the message of the Gospel in my heart. I am so :Blessedly Assured of the message He’s taught me through His Word, and life experiences, that no one can change, or separate me from the love of God. You compare me with a “New’ Christian, as far as what I understood, or didn’t in your response to my question, and yet, you still choose to argue on my site, rather than to answer the question to yourself. If we are having a “Who’s saved and who’s not”? contest, leave me out of it, I am secure in my salvation, and filled with Joy unspeakable. I also have several other ministers who’ve read my series thus far, and even your comments, and they too think it is you who is being rude.

And I do continue to pray for your arthritis, and health issues by the way… I do love you in Christ, Anne. I just think maybe the whole thing is a communication gap, and possibly simple semantics.
    God Bless You

    • Whether you believe in the Trinity or Godhead as They are called in the Greek or not Paul shows if you have the Holy Spirit, I explained this to you fully and shared the Scripture that confirmed it.

In regard to your friends and your slander of me, ask then to contact us personally with their confirmation Scripture if they have a problem with what I share, by yours and their gossip and back bitting, they show their heart focus and it shows yours too, itching ears are always open to slander when those who do it agree with them .

I have asked God for His wisdom and He gave it to me as He promises, I will never say I don’t have it, this is why I have Compleat assurance in what I share, I’m still learning but what Jesus our only Teacher has show me already I have no doubt about but it seems Paul you do, and don’t really believe the Scriptures or is it you don’t see them as a Compleat picture, just bits and pieces like a lot of others do. God tells us that No Temptation will be greater then we can bear and He will also provide a way out so we do not sin and when we are Born again we can’t sin because we have God’s seed or Spiritual Nature.

1 John 3:9 No one who is Born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.

I suggest you go to God Paul not others and ask Him to open your Spiritual eyes as you read the Chapters below, I will no longer respond to your Posts as I see no point in allowing you to show your fleshy chauvinism and contempt to someone who is trying to help you, even though you try to sugercoat them and rememeber it was you who came to our Blog first and have also continued to leave a Like on my Posts??????????.

      Christian Love – Anne.

1 John 3:1-12 Behold, what manner of Love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. And every man that hath this hope in Him purifieth himself, even as He is pure. Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is Born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is Born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that Loveth not his brother. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should Love one another.

1 John 5:18-20 We know that no one who is Born of God sins; but He who was Born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the True God and eternal life.

You really should read yourself I think Anne. …These people happen to read my blog, that’s all.. there was no back biting, or asking of ones opinions…they just offered it. And now you want to judge everyone else, rather than answer the question…Do you sin? If so, then you’re like the rest of us, and should stop presenting a sinless gospel, which is NOT the Gospel of Christ, and does more harm than good.
