Jesus is the Answer

Jesus is the answer. I’ve often heard from others in response to that statement; What is the question“? And my response to them is always the same. Ask it. Seriously, ask any question and Jesus is the ultimate answer to it. For example, some with the intent of proving my statement wrong riposte  – “What’s your favorite color”?  And please remember this is just one of many questions I’ve encountered in reply to my statement that Jesus is the answer, so inclusively speaking, I say as our taste buds change as we mature so then do our color pallets. As a child and probably for 30 years of my adult life my favorite color was blue. Now, however, I have to say I’m much more attracted and comfortable with green. “So how does that equate to Jesus being the answer to the question: What’s your favorite color ?” They ask.  And I politely reply. It all has to do with the meaning of life. If God never gave us life- we would have no meaning – color, in fact, would have no meaning. Jesus, the Lord of Creation, is, of course, God- the author and finisher of all meaning and of our faith. Therefore, Jesus is the answer to the most ardently asked question of all time – What is The Meaning of Life ?– Without the answer to that question – or at least the ability to ask or ponder it- no other question matters.

How do we come to know Jesus? Many with great intentions over-spiritualize the relationship between man and God. Some were raised and firmly believe in a “Works based salvation” wherein we have to perform certain feats, rituals or even achieve in and of our own strengths “sinless perfection” to become saved. That, praise God, is not what the Word of God teaches, as we plainly read here: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” Ephesians 2:8         The Word of God also teaches that no person could ever see God and live- Then goes even further to explain the simplicity of God’s plan – God provided a mediator- Jesus is the answer. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” 1 Timothy 2:5

Nowhere in His Word does God tell us if we believe in the “Finished Work of Christ at the Cross” to pay our sin debt that everything will be painlessly pristine in our lives. Nor that, contrary to popular belief, Jesus will make all bad things go away-  He does, however, tell us we can have true peace unlike any superficial earthly meaning of the word and that He will make a way through the situations in life to “Work all things to the good for His children.”  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28

Even in the event of the physical death of one of His children, they will reap treasures in heaven because for the child of God- Life doesn’t end here in physical death. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.” Revelation 2:11   –  Now, you’re probably wondering how we become one of these “overcomers”.  – For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, – even our faith.” 1 John 5:4 – So, our faith in what? You may ask. And once again Jesus is the Answer.    These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33  –

” And thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”  1 Corinthians 15:57

So as you can see Jesus truly is the answer to all questions – and – the meaning of life must truly be to be at perfect peace with oneself, our peers, and most of all our creator. And believe me, I know personally how seemingly impossible this being at perfect peace with oneself and the world is. Especially this day and age with pestilences, fathom, and disease circumventing the world, and society becoming more evil by the minute – “I  -could never pull this off.” You’re probably saying, and you would be right. But, if you ask the one who already pulled it off for all who will come to Him and believe in Him you’ll learn to rest in His finished work at the cross for you and you to will then know “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  –  Jesus  –

Acts 2:21

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever

shall call on the name of the

 Lord shall be saved.

The Man in the Moon

Seeeth thou ever the man in the moon?

Searched as a child with never the boon.

In the crescent? I asked. Harvest, or half?

You see him? They’d say, with a half heart-ed laugh.

For years I squinted at the sphere in the air.

Envisioned him at leisure in his rocking chair.

Or was he standing? Or, walking? Or riding a bike?

Soon gave up looking, still as a tyke.

Years passed quickly, ne’er had I seen.

Throughout my boyhood, on through the teens.

Probably they were jeering, of me making fun.

Or, could they really see him? Guess I’m the only one.

I gave up ever looking, a sight I’d never find.

Rarely looked above me, to the moon I was blind.

Grew to be a man,  more important considerations.

Began listening to God —a lonely  heart, my only oblation—

I grew much stronger,  His love grew my faith.

Looking up to thank Him, and there it was—

His beautiful, love filled face.

It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven.

Blue Bird Hotel

After seeing a blue bird on a fence in the remaining day light hour before darkness,  I walked a few more steps, opened the door and felt the assuring warmth of home wrap her invisible, loving arms around my shivering soul.

I wasn’t thinking of how wonderfully blessed I was to have such unseen opulence embrace and welcome me as I stepped in from the cold, but, as soon as it did, I thanked God.

It’s amazing how we can come to the same home, open the same door day after day and not realize what a blessing it truly is to have.

One of the things this caused me to do was remember to praise, and thank God for abundance of things He has told us in His word not to worry about, or, to give thought to.

(Matthew6 : 25″ Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body more than raiment”?

The ensuing verse  illustrates  how He takes care of all the needs of the birds of the air also.

(Matthew 6:26″ Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they”)?

Unlike male, and female, roles in our human condition, the male bluebird gets to pick out the home. Of course, the choosing of the dwelling couldn’t be a joint effort anyway, as he only chooses a suitable  “House”  or, “Covey hole”, to attract a female to come in and make it a home.

Along with his duty of choosing a potential residence, the male Bluebird is responsible to move all the building materials to the lot before beginning  his wing flapping, love-sick song and dance, in hopes of attracting an interested companion.

The female ( after the wedding of course ) moves in, does all the decorating, builds the nest, lays the eggs and sees the off-spring through the nurturing days.

How wonderfully well planned and provided for all God’s creatures are.

When these realizations  nested in my heart and mind, I could not help but follow through the full gestation of both thoughts to fruition.

First of all,  I meditated on,  and quoted the verse in God’s Word that kept resonating it’s subliminal, chirping, Tweedledee, sing-song through the surround sound system of my soul:

(Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”.)

After cooing thankfulness to God, who cared enough about me as an individual to nestle me with such incomprehensible, immeasurable provision, and cue, I set out to prepare a small bit of real-estate for my neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Bluebird.     Blue Bird House 005
